Rosemary A. "Rosie" (Williamsen) Daul, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, December 22, 2013 with her family at her side. Born May 31, 1930, oldest daughter of Joseph J. and Cecelia K. (Palm) Williamsen. She was baptized, received first Eucharist, confirmed, and married at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Little Chute, WI. She graduated with the class of 1948 from St. John's Catholic High School.
Rosemary married Florian "Bud" Daul in 1951 and a few years later went with him to Ft. Leonard Wood, MO when he was drafted into service. There, she had her son, Steve. After Bud's service was done, they lived in Kaukauna, and she had her son, Tim, before moving and settling down in Freedom, WI. Rosemary and Bud run their Standard Service station in Freedom for over 30 years.
Rosemary was a feisty little girl with lots of spirit. She enjoyed shopping with her sisters. She was an avid speed reader and could finish most books in a day, which she read thousands. Rosemary was a devout Roman Catholic and wanted everyone to know it. Rosie was totally devoted to her family unselfishly always putting them 1st. She also loved her pet dogs. Her favorite saying was "Always think a lot of yourself."
Rosemary is survived by her sons: Stephen J. Daul and Timothy W. Daul. She is further survived by her "baby" sister Ruthie (Edward) Weber; and Bud's siblings: Mathew (Mary Ann) Daul; Loraine Callaway; Betty Smits; niece Kim (Jeff) Mayer, Brillion; great niece, Stephanie Mayer, Green Bay; and great nephew Nick (Rachel) Mayer, Reedsville; one uncle Gerald Williamsen, Kaukauna; many cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph J. and Cecelia K. Williamsen; her husband, Florian (Bud) Daul; a son Joseph at birth; a sister, Mary at birth; a sister, Rita K. Cohan; brothers-in-law: William (Bub) Cohan, Norval Smits, and Jack Callaway; Bud's parents Mathew and Marie Daul; Bud's sibling Donald Daul; and friend Bev Kolb.
Friends may call at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom on Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. until the Funeral Mass at 5:00 p.m. with Fr. Dan Felton officiating. Burial will take place at the parish cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at
