Rosetta E. Henn, age 90, of Navarino, passed away on Thursday afternoon, October 6, 2011, at Appleton Medical Center. She was born on her grandparent's farm, Will and Jessica Templar, on April 21, 1921 in Oconto Falls. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Violetta (Templar) Dickson. During her first 8 years her family moved quite a bit because of the Depression Era, jobs were not easy to find. In March of 1932 the family moved to the Navarino area. She was united in marriage to George Henn in Clintonville on February 4, 1939, where they raised three children. They farmed in the area and Rosetta also worked at the Hansen Glove Factory in Clintonville for 10 ½ years and then at the Shiocton Kraut Plant for 9 years. Rosetta was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Navarino and was involved with the Christian Mother's and Merrie Maids Homemaker's Group. She was also a general leader for the Navarino Go-Fors 4-H Club.
In November 1977 they moved to Nichols, where she lived for 28 years. She became involved in many clubs and activities; the Nichols Birthday Club and was the president and secretary/treasurer for 26 years; the Nichols Homemaker's, where she was president for 2 years; she was on the Nichols Village Board-Trustee for 8 years; and an on call blood donor; she was also involved in the Nichols Area Historical Society as a Trustee, Nichols Advancement Association, Nichols Heart Fund Drive for 5 years, the Nichols Cooperative for 21 years, a volunteer at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home for 3 years, and was a present member of the Red Hat Society. She was "Mrs. Santa" for the Christmas Parade for 3 years. Rosetta did many tours for the Historical Tours through the Tri-River Nature area, walked with them on the bike and auto trails and through the Nichols-Navarino and surrounding area.
She is survived by her children, Margaret Young, Safford, AZ; Phyllis (Jim) Young, Abrams; Thomas (Linda) Henn, Navarino; Grandchildren: Brent Young (special friend Karin), Tucson, AZ; Terra Young, Green Bay; Joe Henn (special friend Carrie), Green Bay; Jeff (Jeorylnn) Henn, Alma, Ark.; Michelle (Bart) Haverkorn, Appleton; Keri (Bud) Schlimgen , Barneveld, WI .; Chad (KiKi) Spaeth, Cecil; Kami Speath(special friend Jed), Pulaski; Dalton (Jeana) Henn, San Diego, CA; Austin; Great-Grandchildren; Marcus, Rebecca, Tanner, Jason, Brandon, Saskia, Hannah, Zykora, Kaleb, Jacob, Justin, Jenna, Chloe, Skylar, Kaila, Brooklyn, Ali, Kylie, Mackenzie; Kyle and Rhyan ; her sister in law Doris Dickson, Shiocton; many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents; three brothers Alvin, Harold and Howard; her sisters Donna and Marion; a grandson Geoffrey Allen Henn.
Friends may call the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Navarino on Monday, October 10, 2011, from 2:00 p.m. until Mass of Christian burial at 6:00 p.m. with Fr. Theodore J. Hendricks officiating.
