Royal "Bud" C. Leeman, 85, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday July 5, 2008. Bud was born in the Town of Maine, WI on September 18, 1922 to Edna (Greely) and Malcolm Leeman.
He served honorably in World War II as part of the 85th Mountain Division, 238th Infantry Regiment, Company M. Upon returning from the war, Bud married his sweetheart Margaret Boodry on February 2, 1946 in Leeman, WI. During their 62 years of marriage they were blessed with two daughters, Sue and Sara.
Bud was a mechanical engineer, beginning his professional experience with FWD in Clintonville and concluding with Patz, Inc. in Pound, WI as their chief engineer. He also consulted with Patz for several years after his retirement in 1989. Bud was a lifelong outdoorsman who can be credited with teaching many a family member to bait a line or flush a bird. He was a wise, kind, and loving father, brother, uncle, grandfather, friend.but his eyes always held an extra special sparkle for his Marg.
Bud is survived by his wife Margaret Leeman, Shiocton; his daughters Sue (Richard) Kempfert, Waupaca, and Sara (Dean) Kozlovsky, Coleman; grandchildren Kathryn (Joe) Ruppert, Appleton, Joel Kempfert, Waupaca, Jacob Kozlovsky, Coleman, Jonathon (Ashley) Kozlovsky, Coleman; a great-grandaughter Bethany Ruppert, Appleton; his sisters Dorothy Ethington, Shawano, and Lorraine (Walter) Bisterfeldt, Shiocton; brothers Kenneth (Beatrice) Leeman, Shiocton, and Keith (Gen) Leeman, Appleton; brothers-in-law Raymond Boodry, Shiocton, and Eddie Boodry, Shiocton; a sister-in-law Shirley Allen, Detroit; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents Edna and Malcolm Leeman, his sister Nelda Collins, brother Henry Leeman, and grandson James Kempfert.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 from 4 PM to 8 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Shiocton, from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM. Pastor Paul Hinz will be officiating with burial taking place at Oak Hill Cemetery in the Town of Maine.
