Ruben A. Uhlenbrauck, age 84, passed away Thursday morning, August 23, 2007, at Cherry Meadows Hospice, Appleton. He was born June 20, 1923 in Black Creek, the son of the late George and Olga (Krueger) Uhlenbrauck. On September 29, 1945 he was united in marriage to Doloris Brockman at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 29, 1995. Doloris preceded Ruben in death on February 26, 2004. He farmed until his retirement in 1990 and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Black Creek, where he served on many committees. He served as a board member on many co-ops and was involved in cemetery work; also serving on the Community Lutheran Cemetery Association board. He was a volunteer fireman for 30 years. Ruben enjoyed bowling and playing cards with family and friends.
He is survived by his sons, David (Jeanne), Menasha; Gary (Karen), Black Creek; Gerald "Bear" (special friend, Carol), Black Creek; and a daughter, Margie; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Nelson, Seymour and Leola (Harold) Seitz, Black Creek.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doloris; brothers-in-law, Clarence Nelson, Orville and Kenneth Brockman.
Friends may call at the Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, 358 S. Main St., Seymour, on Sunday, August 26, 2007, from 4 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, August 27, 2007, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 201 E. Birch St., Black Creek, from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral services at 11 a.m. with Pastor Stephen Schlicht and Pastor John Brandt officiating.
