Ruth Hoffmann

Ruth V. Hoffmann, 93, of Seymour, passed away Friday morning, December 2, 2016 at Country Villa Assisted Living in Freedom. She was born February 3, 1923, daughter of the late James and Catherine (Brandow) Samson. On May 31, 1941 she was united in marriage to Earl Hoffmann. He preceded her in death on December 4, 1997.
Ruth was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour.
Ruth and Earl farmed in the Town of Oneida from 1941 to 1969. She later worked at Sears for several years. Ruth also held a real estate license and was a sales rep for Sarah Coventry Jewelry.
She enjoyed crocheting and usually made about 100 hats every year along with many afghans, mittens, and countless other items. Her creations were often donated to those in need and made as gifts.
She is survived by her daughter, June (Robert) Dorn; five grandchildren: Troy (Val), Kim (Robert), Ty (Tonya), Gina, and Lisa; 13 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren: daughter-in-law, Anne Hoffmann; son-in-law, Richard Konkel; sister-in-law, Agnes Samson.
Preceded in death by her son, Karl Hoffmann; daughter, Fay Konkel; five brothers and six sisters.
Friends may call Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 from 9:00 am until services at 11 am with Pastor Roland Lindeman officiating. Burial will take place in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Seymour. Online condolences may be expressed at www.muehlboettcher.com
