Ruth Virginia Moeller, 97, Seymour, was called home to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 5, 2022. The daughter of the late Clair and Hilda (Blumke) Forbes was born January 3, 1925, in Milwaukee. Ruth was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Cicero, where she held various offices in the WELCA, attended numerous conventions, quilted and worked in the kitchen for many events and funerals.
Ruth worked various jobs in Milwaukee. While spending time with her Uncle Bill and grandmother in Clintonville, Ruth met Reinhold Moeller at a dance where they were introduced through mutual friends. Ruth and Reinhold were united in marriage on June 10, 1950, at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Cicero. They resided and farmed until they retired in 1980, and they built their retirement home near the family farm. They both enjoyed country living and being near family and long-time neighbors and friends. Reinhold preceded Ruth in death on April 8, 2002.
Ruth loved to sew and was an excellent seamstress. She was the clothing/sewing leader for the Elm Lawn 4-H Club for many years. Ruth also made many beautiful ceramics pieces. After Reinhold passed away, Ruth became active in the Pulaski Quilting Club and made many beautiful quilts, table runners and wall hangings. She also devoted one day per week making quilts for "Warmth of the Heart."
Survivors include six children: Jud (Carol) Moeller, Wabeno; Carrie (Phil) Daoust, Seymour; Sandra (Cletus) Selissen, Green Bay; Bill (Dulce) Moeller, Shawano; Beth (Lynden) Hovell, Pulaski; and Amy (Lee) Miller, Florida; one daughter-in-law, Susan Moeller, Seymour; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Lorna Forbes, Neenah.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Russell Moeller; one sister, June Ramaker; and two brothers, Robert and Clair "Sonny" Forbes.
Visitation will take place on Monday, March 14, 2022, at Ascension Lutheran Church, Navarino, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m., with Pastors Mark and Marcia Sabin officiating. Burial will follow at North Cicero Cemetery (Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery). Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
The family extends a special thanks to the staff of Meadow Wood and Good Shepherd Nursing Home for their compassion and care. Also, a heartfelt thanks to Pastors Mark and Marcia Sabin.
