Ruth E. Pennings, age 88 of Appleton, passed away Friday evening December 17, 2010 at Appleton Medical Center. She was born June 5, 1922 the daughter of the late August and Albertena (Brueggeman) Lietz. On September 18, 1948 she was united in marriage to Clarence Pennings. Ruth and Clarence owned and operated Pennings Supper Club at Twelve Corners from 1957 until their retirement in 1979. Ruth enjoyed following the Brewers, Badgers and Packers and looked forward to winters in Florida. Ruth was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Town of Center.
Survivors include her husband Clarence, Appleton; children: Patricia Riehl, Black Creek, Cindy (Tom) Baer, Lakewood, Mike (Mary) Pennings, Clearwater, Florida, Steve (Shawn) Pennings, Black Creek; granddaughters: Jodi (Paul) Mathe, Kerri (Steve) Tuma, Sarah Riehl, Jessica (Shane) Wallenfang, Amanda and Marissa Pennings, 8 great grandchildren, and a brother Alvin Lietz, King.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-Law, Wes Riehl; great granddaughter Katelyn; 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
Friends may call on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Town of Center, from 4pm until funeral services at 6pm with Pastor Micha Martin officiating. Burial at Bovina Cemetery in Shiocton. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, is assisting the family with arrangements.
