Ruth Staley

Ruth Mae Staley, age 96, Seymour, passed away on December 16, 2013 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Seymour after a 10 day stay. Ruth was born on the family farm on November 25, 1917, to the late Allen and Lena (Rohm) Powell, the youngest of 5 children. She was united in marriage to Elwyn Staley of Oregon, Wis., on March 22, 1941. Elwyn and Ruth celebrated 72 years of marriage last March.
Ruth liked to play cards and games of all kinds. She most enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and neighbors. Ruth worked as a secretary for the Seymour School district, CESA, and the Outagamie County Extension office. She was a 4-H club leader and a member of the County Homemakers.
Ruth will be greatly missed by her husband of 72 years, Elwyn; one son, Allyn (Bridget) Staley, Seymour; one daughter, Diane Beyer, Manawa; 5 grandchildren: Clinton (Kim) Beyer, Scott Staley (friend Theresa), Ross Beyer, Greg (Wendy) Staley and Karen (David) Weber; 2 step-grandchildren, Matthew and Alan McBee; 4 great-grandchildren: Kora, Mason and Nash Staley and Calleigh Beyer; 1 step-great grandchild, Kaelyn McBee; nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Kenn Beyer; 4 brothers: Seldon (Alice) Powell, Lester (Daisy) Powell, Gordon (Mary) Powell, Arland Powell; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law: Ivan (Oral) Staley, Lucille (Burgess) Behnke, Arleigh (Marquarite) Staley, Garth (Phyllis) Staley.
A visitation for family and friends will be at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Friday, December 20, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. until funeral services at noon with Eugene Moerschel officiating. Burial will take place in the Seymour City Cemetery.
