Ruth Elizabeth "Betty" Wickesberg, 87, of Black Creek, passed away Tuesday morning, October 24, 2017, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Appleton. She was born August 23, 1930, daughter of the late Walter and Mabel (Sharp) Wickesberg.
Betty graduated from Shiocton High School in 1948 and began working for the Outagamie County Producers. At that time, she also was involved in the family farm, where she worked and lived her entire life.
She enjoyed baking, gardening, flowers, dancing, and music. Over the years she was a caregiver for her nieces and nephews when they were visiting the farm. Her family and the farm meant everything to Betty.
Betty is survived by her sister, Mary Shepard, Shiocton; nieces and nephews: Dwight (Rose) Wickesberg, Wayne (Patti) Wickesberg, Brian (Patsy) Wickesberg, Rita Barke, James (Lynn) Wickesberg, Kathie (Leonard) Ochowicz, Julie (Richard) Crow, Debbie (Marshall) Elsner, Michael (Amy) Van Lanen, Brian (Karie) Van Lanen, Jim (Jane) Shepard, Dawn Deltour, Steven (Kerry) Shepard, Karen Shepard, Lori (Miguel) Nieves, Georgianna King, and Angie Shepard. Further survived by many great-nieces and great-nephews, and brother-in-law, Bill (Betty) Beyer.
Betty is preceded in death by her siblings: Dallas (Lela) Wickesberg, Milton Wickesberg, Walter Wickesberg, Violet and Vivian Wickesberg, Gladys Beyer, Marjorie Wickesberg, and Richard Wickesberg. Also preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Eleanor (Vernon) Van Lanen; brother-in-law, James Shepard; nephew, Stephen Scheffel; great-nephew, Chad Barke.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 10:00 am until the memorial service at 12:00 noon with Chaplain Leonard Ochowiz officiating.
