Sandra G. Roskom, age 77, of Seymour passed away peacefully following a long struggle with pancreatic cancer on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born February 4, 1940 a daughter of the late Melvin and Marcella (Radtke) Armitage.
On May 5, 1959, she was united in marriage to Roger Roskom at St. John Catholic Church in Seymour where she remained a member ever since.
She worked at Good Shepherd for many years where she made many good friends.
At the age of 74, she wrote and published a book that she was very proud of.
Sandy had a unique sense of humor. She enjoyed quilting, reading, nature, waterfalls, and above all her family.
She is survived by her husband, Roger; seven children: Pete (fiancAC. Cheryl) Roskom, Tony (Julie) Roskom, Vicki (Gary) Grieger, Staci (Jeff) Nelson, Juli (Joe) Muelemans, Cheryl (Scott) Ruechel, Debbi (Jeff) Roche; 25 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. Further survived by her siblings: Armen Armitage, Milton (Ruth) Armitage, and Margo (Donald) Malueg; in-laws: Dennis (Rosie) Roskom, Connnie (Bob) Banker, Alan (Cindy) Roskom, David (Noreen Moeller) Roskom, Bill (Kay) Roskom, Carol (Denis Reese) Roskom, Pat (Doug) Houf, Ginny VanLannen, Linda Roskom, and adopted brother-in-law Brian (Kelly) Diedrick.
Preceded in death by an infant sister, Diane; sisters-in-law: Rose Armitage, Ione (Ron) Zahn; brothers-in-law: Ron Roskom and Steven Roskom.
Friends may call at St. John Catholic Church, Seymour on Monday, March 6, 2017 from 9:30 am until the memorial mass at 11:00 am with Fr. Brian Belongia and Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at
