Sharon Debruin

July 7, 1954 — June 3, 2012

Sharon A. DeBruin, age 57, of Green Bay, was called home with family by her side to join her grandparents on Sunday, June 3, 2012. She was born July 7, 1954, daughter of Alvin and Ruth (Treml) Flaig.

Sharon was a graduate of Ashwaubenon High School class of 1972.

She married Steve DeBruin on September 7, 1973 at St. John Catholic Church in Seymour. Sharon worked at various businesses in Seymour and also ran a dairy farm with Steve. Eventually the farm was sold and they moved to Green Bay where she worked in retail jewelry. In 1992 she was employed at the NEW Community Clinic as an Administrative Accounting Assistant until recently.

Sharon loved to travel to Memphis to enjoy some BBQ and listen to the blues. She also enjoyed vacationing in Hayward and taking day trips to Door County. Her greatest love and joy were her three grandchildren. To them, she was known as "Grandma with the white car".

She is survived by her husband Steve; two daughters: Angie (Brian) Woolery, Hudson, WI, and Jackie (fiance Jerry) Casarez, Green Bay; three grandchildren: Shelby, Taylor, and Jacob; parents Alvin and Ruth Flaig, Green Bay; two brothers: Gene and Tim Flaig, both of Green Bay. Further survived by father-in-law Deacon Orvell DeBruin, Seymour; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Betty (Tom) Birling, Green Bay; Dave (Mary) DeBruin, Seymour, Debbie (Keith) Rosin, Green Bay, and Dennis (Patti) DeBruin, Appleton.

Sharon was preceded in death by her mother-in-law Rose Marye DeBruin and sister-in-law Jenny Flaig.

Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, 358 S. Main St., Seymour, on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 from 4 to 8 PM with a prayer service at 7:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at St. Louis Catholic Church, N8726 County Line Rd., Luxemburg, from 9:00 AM until the funeral Mass at 11 AM. Burial will take place at St. John Catholic Cemetery, Seymour.

A special thanks to Dr. Winkler and his team at Green Bay Oncology, Unity Hospice, Sr. Marlene at St. Louis Parish and Fr. Jim Dillenberg for the care given to Sharon.
