Sharon Marcks, age 81, of Seymour, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2024. Born on January 21, 1943, in Seymour, she was the daughter of William and Gertrude (Liephaber) Treml, and was embraced by her step-father, Eben Mullen.
Sharon married Earl Marcks on June 22, 1963, and together they shared more than 61 years of love and devotion. Sharon was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, known for her deep faith, unwavering support of her family, and warm spirit. She was an active member of St. John's Catholic Church, including the Christian Mothers, and recently completed her Marian consecration. Sharon's love for her community was also reflected in her dedication to Seymour High School and her role in supporting local 4-H activities.
Sharon was a graduate of Seymour High School, class of 1961, and attended the Wisconsin School of Cosmetology. She worked as a beautician and spent many years in food service, retiring from Good Shepherd Food Services. Sharon enjoyed crocheting, baking her famous cookies, and following her favorite sports teams - the Packers, Badgers, and Brewers. Sharon also loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren, and could always be found cheering them on in their various activities. She was honored alongside her husband Earl with the Seymour High School Booster Backer Award for their lifelong commitment to supporting local athletics.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Earl; children: Terry Marcks, Gary (Kerry) Marcks, Tammy (Dale) Van De Loo, and Amy (Brent) Koebe; grandchildren: Stacy Marcks, Carsten (Grace) Van De Loo, Kaiser (Irayma, special friend), Kylie, Jamie (Holly) Koebe, and Owen (Mackenzie, special friend). She is further survived by her sisters: Pat (Dean) Ullmer, Eilene Mullen, Bonnie (Ray) Leisgang, and Earl's family, including: Donald Marcks, Charles Marcks, Nancy Holz, Darlene (Bob) Butters, Delores (Jim) Buckholz, Marge (Denny) Brinkman, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Joe (Vivian) Treml; and her in-laws: Melvin and Harriet Marcks, Dale Marcks, James (Jan and Bette) Marcks, Joyce (Jim) Thiel, Beverly Marcks, and Elsie Marcks.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 9:00 AM until the funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Seymour, with Fr. Matt Colle and Fr. Sengole Dass officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Meadow Wood, Unity Hospice, and Dr. Schinschke for their compassionate care.
Sharon had a deep love for flowers and enjoyed growing them in her garden. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association. Sharon, who cherished polka and country music - especially the tunes of Johnny Cash - would no doubt appreciate any tunes played in her memory as she joins her heavenly home.
May Sharon's memory live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and may she rest in peace.
