Shirley Blum, 82, of Chicago passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023. She was born on January 29, 1941 to the late Arthur and Josephine (Wheelock) Webster.
Following high school Shirley worked at the Green Bay Canning Company before moving to the Chicago area to be by her sister, Marie.
She had a successful career as a purchaser for Montgomery Ward and also worked for Avon for several years at their offices in Chicago.
Shirley was an experienced traveler, having visited many places throughout the United States, including Hawaii. Her family, especially her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews were very important to her. She treated them all like they were her own children and grandchildren.
She is survived by a brother, Irvin "Bunny" Webster; two godchildren: Jean Webster and Robbie Webster; and lifelong close friend, Ruth LeCaptain. Shirley is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; sister-in-law, Alma Webster.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Robert Webster, Marty Webster, Marie Scott, Donny Webster, Audrey Webster, Arthur Jr. (Rita) Webster, and Clifford (Wanda) Webster; nephews: John (Roslind) Webster; nieces: Rhonda Webster, Marla Webster-Bodway and Judy Webster; great-nephew: Joshua Webster; and great-niece, Yetsi Danforth.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Oneida United Methodist Church, N6037 County Rd E, De Pere from 9:00 am until funeral service at 11:00 am with the Oneida Hymn Singers at 10:30 am. Pastor Jane Sommers officiating. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, is assisting the family with arrangements.
