Shirley Hilgenberg

Shirley Ann Hilgenberg, age 78, of Seymour, passed away on August 20, 2020 at ThedaCare Regional Hospital in Appleton. She was born on April 27, 1942, to the late Carlton and Marcella (Sigl) Abel. Shirley married Ralph Hilgenberg on April 27, 1968. Ralph preceded her in death on May 26, 2019.
Shirley was a faithful member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, where she and Ralph could be found at Sunday morning coffee hour on a regular basis.
Shirley enjoyed playing cards, going for walks, and visiting with friends, especially on the telephone.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Abel; sister-in-law, Kathy Abel; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by brothers: Marlin Abel, and Richard (Betty) Abel; sisters-in-law, Jean (Arnold) Kramer, Kathy (John) Berg; brothers-in law: Mart (Gloria) Hilgenberg, Bill (Dorothy) Hilgenberg, and Ernie Hilgenberg.
A private funeral service was held for Shirley with Pastor Ty Stoneburner officiating. Burial took place at Emmanual Lutheran Cemetery, Seymour.
