Shirley Joan Richardson (nee Widstrom)

Shirley Joan Richardson transitioned from earthly life to eternal life on November 11, 2012.

In Shirley's own words:

"I was a Christian Mother who tried to share the love of my faith with family, friends, neighbors and the community."

If you knew Shirley, you probably like her. The following passage from Proverbs summarizes her contributions:

When one finds a valiant woman
Her value is beyond pearls.
The heart of her husband trusts her,
Having an unfailing prize.
She brings about good, not evil, all the days of her life.
She opens her hands to the poor
and extends her arms to the needy.
She fears not the cold of snow around her household.
Strength and dignity are her clothing
and she laughs at the time to come.
She opens her mouth in wisdom,
and forgiveness is on her tongue.
Her sons rise up and call her blessed.
Her husband also praises her.
"Many are the women of proven worth.
But you have excelled them all."
Charm is deceptive and beauty fleeting;
the woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Give her a reward for her labor.
And let her works praise her at the gates.

A memorial fund has been established in Shirley's memory to HCE (Association for Home and Community Education).
