Shirley Vanden Berg

Shirley A. Vanden Berg, 91, of Seymour passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home. She was born on March 26, 1933 daughter of the late Walter and Anna (Burmeister) Blohm.

On September 10, 1955 she was united in marriage to Donald Vanden Berg. He preceded her in death on November 25, 1999.

Shirley was a crossing guard in Seymour for 33 years. She never missed a bingo game.

She is survived by a son, Dennis Vanden Berg; daughter, DeAnn "Denise" (Richard) Winter; grandchildren: Ryan Vanden Berg, Christopher (special friend, Crystal Weise) Vanden Berg, Robin (Chad) Herlache, Shawn (Bree Stanelle) Vanden Berg, Matthew Winter, and Lisa Land; seven great-grandchildren. Further survived by a brother, Leland "Butch" (Betty) Blohm; brother-in-law, Melvin Klarner; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Terry Vanden Berg; grandson-in-law, Randy Land; brother, Alvin (Florine) Blohm; and sister, Nancy Klarner.

A visitation for Shirley will take place at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 9:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am with Pastor Ray LeBlanc officiating. Burial will take place at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Seymour.
