Stanley R. Butters, 93, of Seymour passed away peacefully on Monday April, 7, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was born September 3, 1920 in Sheboygan County to the late Arno and Elda Butters. He married Virginia Taylor on November 14, 1942.
He was an active member of Seymour/Cicero EUB and United Methodist Churches. He taught school for two years in Sheboygan County, served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII, started the egg buying business for Burkart & Son in Seymour, was a car salesman for Mielke Motors and was a Field man for Consolidated Badger until retirement in 1985. In 1985 he was awarded WI Dairy Plant Field Representative of the year.
He and Virginia enjoyed traveling with their camper and motor home, visiting many areas in the USA and Canada. His favorite camping place was with his family at United Methodist Wildwood Campground at Pine Lake. In his retirement he spent many hours making silhouette yard ornaments.
Stanley is survived by his wife of 71 years, Virginia; three children: Robert (Darlene) of Seymour; Terry (Marilyn) of Beloit; and Randy (Teresa) of Madison; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren, and three more expected this year.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Jane Snow and brother-in-law, Ronald; and sister-in-law, Jean Steurwald and brother-in-law, Pete.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Thursday, April 10, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. and Friday, April 11, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. until services at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Rebecca Henry officiating. Burial will take place in Cicero Methodist Cemetery.
