Stanley R. Skinkis, 95, Seymour, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020, at Forest Glen in Seymour. He was born April 21, 1925, son of the late Joseph and Pearl (Olszewski) Skinkis. On May 20, 1950, he was united in marriage to Rose Marie Fischer. Rose Marie preceded Stanley in death on January 14, 2016.
Stanley was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Black Creek, where he served as an usher and was a member of the parish council for many years. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Bishop Bona Council #2990, and he served as Grand Knight. He enjoyed polka music, fishing, card playing and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his children: Larry (Jane) Skinkis, Bob (Sharon) Skinkis, Jean (Terry) Conradt, Randy (Cassandra) Skinkis, Steve (Doreen) Skinkis, Mary (Mike) Blohm, Joe (Julie) Skinkis, Jeff (Mary) Skinkis; 29 grandchildren: Richard, Paul, David, Todd, John, Sara, Stacy, Ryan, Craig, Ashley, Scott, Jessica, Chris, Justine, Mike, Matthew, Danny, Michelle, Kristine, Jared, Chad, Erin, Jenny, Nicole, Kaylee, Nick, Megan, Justin and Jason; 38 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, Stanley was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Laura, one grandson, Mark; one great-granddaughter, Georgia; one great-grandson, Heath; six siblings: John (Eleanor) Skinkis, Hatti (Ray) Jarmolowicz, Isabel (Clem) Brusky, Florence (John) Holewinski, Helen (Frank) Kobelewski, and Genevieve (Fred) Spaude.
Due to COVID, a private funeral service will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Black Creek, Father David Greskowiak officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
The family extends a special thanks to Unity Hospice, Meadow Wood, and Forest Glen for all their care and concern.
Stanley always told everybody to be good, and told them if they can't be good, be careful.
