Terry Bunkelman

April 4, 1957 — March 28, 2025

Terry Lee Bunkelman, age 67, passed away peacefully at home on March 28, 2025, surrounded by loved ones after living with Dementia for many years.

Born April 4, 1957, to Carl and Letta (Herlache) Bunkelman. Terry grew up in Black Creek, WI where he spent most of his life. He attended Black Creek Grade School, graduated from Seymour High School in 1975 and attended Fox Valley Technical College receiving a degree in Diesel Engine Technician. Terry married Diane Platten on October 30, 1976. They celebrated 48 wonderful years together.

Terry worked at MCC Construction his entire life, retiring in April 2009. While working for MCC, Terry and Diane also owned Terry's Trucking for 20 years. Terry spent many hours in his shop working on his dump trucks and many other projects.

Terry was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time in his woods. He also enjoyed driving his corvettes and took pride in keeping them in pristine condition. Terry and Diane enjoyed many hobbies together including bowling, golfing and trapshooting, traveling to many areas of the country participating in tournaments and making many good friends along the way. Terry also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Terry is survived by his wife Diane; sisters: Karla (Gary) Krueger and Sue (Gene) Heil; brother, Kip (Brenda) Bunkelman; sister-in-law, Judy Schmit; and brother-in-law, Chris Anschutz. He is further survived by his Godmother, Lois Murphy and many nieces and nephews.

Terry was proceeded in death by his parents father-in-law and mother-in law: Roman and Leona (Truyman) Platten; brother-in-law, Don Schmit; and sister-in-law, Jenny Anschutz.

Diane was a loving and patient caregiver to Terry for many years. Family played a significant role in Terry's care along with help from Unity Hospice and special caregiver Bobbi.

Per Terry's wishes a private celebration of life will take place.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the charity of your choice.
