Thomas Gonnering, age 79, of Freedom passed away at Rennes Health and Rehab in Appleton on January 14, 2021.
On January 23, 1941 Tom was born to the late Norbert and Florence (Liebergen) Gonnering.
Tom married Marilyn Eick on November 18, 1961 and they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year.
He worked for the City of Appleton for 34 years in the Sanitation Department.
Tom enjoyed fishing at Archibald Lake, working in the yard, ringing the Salvation Army bell, and his granddog, Shammi.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Gonnering; son, Mike (Karen) Gonnering; daughter, Janey (Allan) Jahner; sister, Judy (Dave) Rickert; brother, Ronald (special friend, Kelly) Gonnering; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Janice Eick, Shirley (Ken) Melotte, Jean Tierney, Patti (John) La Tourneau, Tom (Jean) Eick, Steve (Nancy) Eick, Pat Eick, and Steve Helms.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by brother, Robert Gonnering;
sister-in-law, Debbie Helms; brothers-in-law: Roger Eick, Jim Eick, Kenneth Eick, Frank Kieler, and Jim Tierney.
A private family service will take place at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home with Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating.
