Thomas John Mullen, of Seymour, passed away on February 28, 2025 at the age of 86, after a brief illness.
Tom was self-employed in lumber sales and metal recycling. He enjoyed watching his sons and grandsons race, hunting with his kids and grandkids, celebrating milestones with all of his family members, and telling entertaining stories. He also loved going for a ride with his partner for life, Merry, to buy lottery tickets and coffee on their daily visit to Kwik Trip. He was a quiet and modest man with a huge heart. The feeling of pride that he had in his family was unwavering. His legacy will live on in the lives he touched.
Tom is survived by his children Scott Mullen, Brian (Kathy) Mullen, grandchildren Jenny (Jeff) VanDeHei, Kelly (Alex) Hill, Eric (Alli) Mullen, Lindsey (Brady Mauthe) Mullen, Adam Mullen, Matt (Gina) Mullen, Mike (Katie) Mullen, great-grandchildren Alayna, Brayden, Dylan, Harper, Grace, Anna, Eve, Brantley, Baby Mauthe, Izzy, Maddox, Jaxson.
Tom is also survived by his sister Katie Diemel and his long time partner Merry Zeeman, and her children Rachelle (Brian) Gleason, Dottie Zeeman and John (Carlene) Zeeman. Also her 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Catherine (Long) Mullen and brother-in-law Bob Diemel.
Funeral services for Tom will be held at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Friday March 7, 2025 at 6:00 PM with Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating. Memorial visitation will be held at the funeral from from 3:00 PM until the time of services. Tom will be laid to rest privately at a later date.
