Tom passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on April 22, 2021. He was born January 5, 1935 in Appleton, Wisconsin to the late Joseph H. and Lucina J. (Wyngaard) Welhouse. He attended school at Triangle Grade School Appleton, Nichols Grade School, Black Creek Grade School, Seymour High School (graduating class of 1953), and the University of Wisconsin Madison majoring in Sociology and Criminology.

Tom was a Korean War Veteran having served his country in the U.S Navy from 1953-1957, plus four years following in the Naval Reserves. In 1956, while serving aboard ship, he participated in the Atomic Nuclear Weapons Test Detonation Series (Operation Redwing) at the Pacific Proving Grounds of Bikini & Enewetok Atolls. Tom achieved the rank of Radioman 2nd class during his Naval Career.

After college, he started working with the family-owned Badger Redi-Mix Concrete Co. of Green Bay. Tom worked with his brothers for 22 years before he and his wife became the proud owners of the company, which they renamed Badger Concrete Inc. He later sold the company and became Sales Manager of MCC Inc. of Appleton. He retired in 2000 after spending 40 years in the construction industry.

Tom served 15 years on the board of directors for the Wisconsin Ready Mixed Concrete Association. Five years were on the executive board, holding the offices of secretary, treasurer, vice president, and president for two terms. He also chaired a variety of committees for the Association.

He was instrumental in forming the Ashwaubenon Youth Hockey Program and served on the board of directors and as president. He also served on the Brown County Youth Hockey Association's board and was elected to the board of directors of the Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association (WAHA) serving 2 years.

On July 19, 1958 he married Carol Anne (Jens) Welhouse, his high school sweetheart, and enjoyed 62 years of happily married life. He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Bradley (Diane) Welhouse of Allen TX and their children Austin and Alec; Todd (Anita) Welhouse of Grafton WI, two daughters and son-in-law; Dawn (Dale) Doney of Sister Bay WI and their children Blair (Cale) Allen and Carson; Stacy Jenkins and her daughter Lexie of Burns WY. He loved his children and grandchildren very much, as they were his true pride and joy.

Also surviving him are two sisters-in-law Sharon Nachtwey of Black Creek WI and Carol Jens of Appleton WI, and many nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his wife Carol; his parents: Joseph and Lucina Welhouse; three brothers: Roman, Joseph, and Donald Welhouse; seven sisters: Elizabeth Cortez, Verone Berg, Lucy Iles, Mary Ann Hendricks, Annette Burton, Blanche Ziewacz and Janice Boucher; and one son-in-law, Melvin Jenkins.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 9:00am to 11:00am with a funeral service to follow at 11:00am at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Green Bay. A private burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established to commemorate Tom in the Wood Memorial Grove at the Green Bay Botanical Gardens; a place he and Carol enjoyed visiting often.
