Veramae H. Rihm, age 90, of Appleton passed away peacefully with her family around her on Wednesday, March 15, 2017. She was born December 8, 1926, daughter of the late William George and Dorothy (Birmingham) Duhm, Sr. On May 8,1948, she was united in marriage to Raymond Rihm at St. John Evangelical and Reformed Church Black Creek. They were married for 65 years.
She and Ray farmed along with their family for 20 years. In addition, she worked for Aluminum Specialty Company Seymour for 19 years. After her retirement, her and Ray were custodians for 13 years at St. John's United Church of Christ Black Creek.
She enjoyed traveling, gardening, knitting, reading, raising grandchildren, watching the Price is Right, Jeopardy, and the Wheel of Fortune. Family was very special to her. She made Christmas extra special.
Vera is survived by her six children: Terry, David, Daniel and Timothy, Black Creek; Thomas (Jeannie), Greenville; Peggy (Merlin) Rohm, Seymour; 13 grandchildren: Kori (Tony) Zawojski, Egg Habor; Cassie (Pudge) Schuh, Seymour, Adam (Jade) Rihm, Morrow, OH; Kayla Rihm, Onalaska; Michael (Sarah) Rihm, Black Creek; Jennifer (Jeremy) Van Dinter, Menasha; Brian (Janel), Kali (Jeremy), Emma Randall; Katie (Dane) Checolinski, Sheboygan; Kimberly (Michael) , Wrightstown; Amber Rihm, CA; Dallas Green Bay; 10 great grandchildren: Ty and Natalie; Brooke, Jack, Ted; Payton and Arianna; Mary, Aubrey and baby C. due in June; sister, Marcella Reese; sister-in-law, Gerry Duhm; brother-in-law, Earl Rihm; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond Rihm, July 14, 2013; infant daughter, Luanne; infant sister Betty Ann Duhm; brothers, Wallace Duhm and George Duhm, Jr.; sisters-in-law: Marian (Rihm) Melchert, Joan Rihm, Francis Rihm, Helen Rihm, Edna Duhm; brothers-in-law, Richard Reese, Robert Melchert and Harvey Rihm; in-laws, Theodore and Alma (Kuse) Rihm.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, March 20, 2017 at St. John's United Church of Christ, Black Creek, 101 S. Clark Street, Black Creek; from 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jill Meyer officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
