Verna L. Van Lishout, age 95, of Seymour, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Shepherd's Inn in Seymour. She was born March 25, 1916 to the late Charles and Ida (Waldo) Nell.
On November 7, 1940 she married Edward Van Lishout in Green Bay.
Verna and Ed farmed in the Seymour area for many years. She and Ed enjoyed traveling, camping, and visiting with whomever happened to "stop by".
Verna was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church since 1953.
Survivors include her four children and their spouses: Martin (Darlene) Van Lishout, Valders; Sue (Dan) Keup, Maribel; Gail (Dan) Green, Springfield, IL; and Judy (Marv) Bohrtz, Brillion; eight grandchildren: Grant (Sherry) Van Lishout, Jacob (Pam) Keup, Jonathan (Erin) Keup, Charles Green, Shelly (Dale) Reinke, Steve (Amanda) Bohrtz, Brian (Jennie) Bohrtz, and Katie (Nick) Ruppenthal; 11 great-grandchildren: Lily Van Lishout, Nathan, Stacey, and Owen Keup, Lydia, Mikayla, Tanner, and Addison Bohrtz, Laurynn, Julia and Pierce Ruppenthal; sister-in-law Gladys Larson; nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law Evelyn and Dan Tarkowski, and a nephew Lynn Larson.
Friends may call at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 from 9 AM until services at 11 AM with Pastor Roland Lindeman officiating. Burial will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Green Bay.
Verna's family would like to thank the caring staff at Shepherd's Inn, neighbors and friends who where a special part of mom's life...thank you for being there.
