Vernon Blohm

Vernon J. Blohm, age 94, passed away at home on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. He was born on August 19, 1929 to the late Harvey and Marion (Veitch) Blohm. Vernon was united in marriage to Ethel "Jean" Bennett on February 7, 1954, having celebrated 70 years of marriage.

Following graduation from Seymour High School, he served in the US Army and Army Reserve for 23 years.

Vernon worked as a well driller and in the welling drilling business until his retirement.

He enjoyed being outdoors, and especially liked his hunting and fishing. Traveling with Jean was also one of his favorite things to do. Summers spent in Algoma was something he loved to do every year. He could run any piece of equipment possible and had a knack of fixing or repairing anything he touched.

Vernon is survived by his wife, Jean; sons: Bernard (Carol), Thomas (Latisha);

grandchildren: Kari (Anthony Marinetti) Blohm, Staci (Ben) Anderson, Jacob (June) Blohm, Benjamin (Kaitlyn) Blohm; great-grandchildren: Julian, Violet, Vera, Victoria, and Ava expected in April. Further survived by sisters-in-law: Violet Blohm and Violet (Bernard) Miller; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Steven Blohm; siblings: Roberta (Robert) Mory, Norman Blohm, Darwin Blohm, and Patricia (Jack) Rohloff; sisters-in-law: Ruth (Gordon) Coey and Beverly Shafer.

Visitation will take place at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, on Monday, March 18, 2024 from 9:30 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am with Pastor Ty Stoneburner officiating. Military honors to follow.
