Vernon B. Denesha passed away peacefully at his winter residence in Black Creek, Wisconsin on Sunday, April 8, 2018. The son of Boyd and Ilah (Allen) Denesha, Vernon was born November 21, 1934, in Pitcairn, New York. He was united in marriage with the love of his life Phyllis Fenton on February 4, 1956 in Fine, NY. Together they raised three children and recently celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Vernon was a paper machine supervisor at the Newton Falls Paper Mill, in Newton Falls, New York where he was employed for over 40 years. For many years, Vernon also owned and operated his own business, North County Saw Service in Fine, NY.
Vernon was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed sharing his love of the sport and quiet times spent on the water with his grandchildren. It was in these quiet times and through the stories told that he assured the wisdom of his years was passed on to the next generation of his family.
Vernon is survived by his wife Phyllis, daughters, Cathy J. (Todd) LaFrance, Leanne K. (John) Mazuroski, grandchildren Nicole Koster, Lindsey LaFrance, Kaylee Nelson, Cari Denesha, Tori LaFrance, John V. Mazuroski, Cameron LaFrance, and thirteen great-grandchildren. Vernon is also survived by his sister Barbara Wood.
Vernon was a lifetime member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge 1762, Carthage, New York.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd and Ilah; a son, Carl B. Denesha; his brother, Charles Denesha; his step-father, Wilfred Fenton; great-granddaughter, Olivia Marie Nelson.
Services for Vernon will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers Muehl-Boettcher funeral home is accepting donations in Vernon’s memory for restorations to the Fine Town Hall.
