Vernon A. Riehl, age 71, of Black Creek passed away Thursday, June 4, 2009 at his home.
He was born January 2, 1938 in Black Creek, son of the late Aaron and Ethel (Schroeder) Riehl.
On September 2, 1961 he was united in marriage to Alice Springstroh in Freedom.
Vernon was a U.S. Marine Veteran and farmed in the Town of Black Creek. He was also a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Appleton.
He is survived by his wife Alice; 2 daughters: Penny Riehl, Appleton, and Annie (Terry) Huss, Black Creek; 3 grandchildren: Reid, Drew, and Ross; 3 sisters: Beverly (Phil) Ziegler, Appleton, Mary (Glen) Vick, Appleton, and Roxanne (Steve) Rudolph, Black Creek; 5 brothers: Don (Lillian) Riehl, Nevada, Lee (Jeanne) Riehl, Hortonville, Ron (Terri) Riehl, Seymour, Mark (Teresa) Riehl, Black Creek, and John (Diane) Riehl, Black Creek. Also survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Vernon was preceded in death by a daughter Elizabeth, son Greg, and his parents.
Friends may call at Bethany Lutheran Church, 530 W. Parkway, Appleton, on Saturday, June 6, 2009 from 9:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mark Henke officiating. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
