Vernon A. Wenninger, age 85, of Seymour passed away Tuesday morning, July 25, 2017, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Seymour. He was born February 3, 1932, son of the late Antone and Mary (Henn) Wenninger.
On October 9, 1954, he was united in marriage to Mary Blohm at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Isaar. She preceded him in death on October 11, 2014. Vernon was a lifelong member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church.
Vernon and Mary dairy farmed side by side in the Town of Seymour, where they raised their family.
He enjoyed traveling with Mary, visiting many different states. Vern was an avid hunter, enjoyed snowmobiling and case tractors. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and all the great-grandchildren.
Vernon is survived by his seven children: Christine (David) Van Boxtel, Oneida; Mike (Diane) Wenninger, Green Bay; Karen (Gary) Van Lanen, De Pere; Pat Wenninger, Freedom; Vern Jr. (fiancAC. Carol Wojcik) Wenninger, Green Bay; Kathy (fiancAC. Joe Schoch) Meulemans, Menasha; and Paul (Tina) Wenninger, Seymour; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Agnes Samson. Further survived by brother-in-law, John Vandenberg.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Deanne Wenninger; daughter-in-law, Luann Wenninger; brothers: Joseph (Adeline) Wenninger, Edward (Josephine) Wenninger; sisters: Marcella (George) Samson, Margaret (Otto) Worsch; brother-in-law, Hugh Samson sister-in-law, Barbara Vandenberg; brother-in-law, Neil (Carol) Blohm.
Friends may call on Friday, July 28, 2017, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Isaar, from 9:00 am until the funeral mass at noon with Fr. Brian Belongia and Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
