Vivian Treml

October 3, 1937 — October 29, 2023

Vivian Treml of Seymour passed away on October 29, 2023 at her home. Her 86 years of life were filled with creativity, commitment to others and never backing down from a challenge.

Vivian was born on October 3, 1937 to the late Henry and Erna (Dallman) Krinke of Cambria, WI. She graduated as valedictorian and went on to UW-Stevens Point where she proudly was a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority. Her Home Economics degree brought her to teach at Seymour High School in 1958. On August 19, 1961, she was united in marriage to Joseph Treml. They worked side by side raising a family, establishing a business and volunteering in the community. Vivian received countless awards for extensive volunteering, but her greatest accomplishment was her family. She loved them dearly and they were part of her life every day. She loved attending their events and supporting them in whatever path they took in life. She still enjoyed going to work at the family business, Treml Enterprises, daily and held to a very strict start time of 7:30 a.m.! She had high standards but reaped great results.

Making Seymour a great place to live was a huge commitment of Vivian's. She served as City Council President and on numerous civic boards. She played a vital role in establishing Seymour as Home of the Hamburger and was also part of the founding committee to build the Scout House where she was the key contact for rentals and upkeep for over 50 years.

Vivian was also an advocate for Girl Scouting. For over 55 years, she was a role model for countless girls and young women. She helped shape the lives of many with her wisdom and compassionate heart.

Vivian's hands were always busy working on a project. If she didn't know how to do it, she would learn it. She created exquisite quilts and loved hosting Quilting Days for her friends. Many people have one of her unique quilting treasures as there were never two alike.

She enjoyed being a member of Red Hats and of Christian Mothers of St. John Parish.

Her legacy will live on through her children, Roberta (Brian) Buchholtz, Brenda (Ken) Baur, Bill (Jane) Treml, Brian and fiancee, Margaret Malcheski, her grandchildren, Brett (Kelly) and Noah Baur, Adam, Alex (Alli) and Aubrey Buchholtz, and Abby and Paul Treml, great-grandchild, Beau Baur, her in-laws Bonnie (Ray) Leisgang, Eilene Mullen, Pat (Dean) Ullmer, Sharon (Earl) Marcks and many nieces and nephews and of course, her daily furry visitor, Harley.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joe on October 19, 2002, her parents, her sister Evelyn (Archie)Smith and brother Robert (Doris) Krinke and in-laws Gertrude and Eben Mullen.

Visitation will take place at St. John Catholic Church, Seymour, on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from 10 a.m. until the funeral mass at 12 noon with Fr. Sengole Dass and Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
