Wayne E. Kirchner, 91, Shiocton, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. He was born November 22, 1930, to the late Edward and Sarah (Metge) Kirchner. On August 19, 1950, he was united in marriage to Lois Larson, and the couple raised 11 children. Lois preceded Wayne in death on January 29, 2007.
Wayne worked at James River Corporation from 1949 until his retirement in 1992, and he also enjoyed working as a farmer. He enjoyed being a member of the "Old Farts Pool League." Wayne also loved fishing and playing cribbage with Lois, and his children and grandchildren. His greatest passion in life was spending time with his family, and his last words were, "I love you all."
Survivors include his children: Robert (Robin) Kirchner, Larry Kirchner, Randy (Liz) Kirchner, JoAnne (Stuart) Oliver, Paula (Ron) Rueden, Annette Lancelle, Barbara Johnson (Michael Doud), Patty Steiger (Joe Farrell), Kim (Kevin) Van Straten, Lori (Brandan) Fredrick, and MaryJo Kirchner (Jeff Cross); 29 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one sister, Arlene Ehlers; one sister-in-law, Alice Kirchner; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Michael Lancelle; four brothers: Clement, Harold (Delores), Harvey, and Rudy Kirchner; one brother-in-law, Conrad "Connie" Ehlers; and his canine companion, Maggie.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m., Pastor Ty Stoneburner officiating. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton.
