William Becker

William "Bill" Becker, age 95, of Seymour passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Heartwood Homes in Appleton.

He was born on August 20, 1928 in Detroit, MI to the late Edward and Ethel (Mahoney) Becker. Bill was united in marriage to Mary Ann "Maureen" Corless on February 7, 1953 in New York City. She preceded him in death on December 28, 1997.

Bill attended St. John's University in Minnesota before joining the US Navy.

Along with his parents, Bill operated the Seymour Hardware Store in Seymour and he continued operating the store as the sole owner after his parents passed away.

For many years Bill's favorite place on earth was his beloved cottage on Little Sand Lake.

He is survived by his daughters: Mary (Ken) Hodgden and Tracy (John) Haupt; grandchildren: Kaitlin (Jacob) Mueller, Lisa Hodgden, Megan and Kevin Troestler; and great-granddaughter, Aurora Mueller; brother-in-law: Bob Bugalski. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Billy; brother, Edward (Jackie) Becker; and sister, Barbara Bugalski.

Visitation will take place at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Friday, October 13, 2023 from 3:00 pm until the funeral service at 5:00 pm with Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating. Internment will take place at St. John Cemetery, Seymour.

Bill loved wearing his flannel shirts, please wear your favorite flannel shirt in Bill's honor.
