VANDEN HEUVEL, WILLIAM (BILL) M. 72
William (Bill) Marvin Vanden Heuvel, born February 11, 1935, in Seymour, WI, died November 23, 2007 in Gilbert, AZ after a year long battle with MDS/Acute Leukemia.
He graduated from Seymour High School in 1953 and joined the US Army where he served in Missouri and Germany. After attending the University of Wisconsin, he had a 30 year career with the USDA until his retirement in 1990.
Bill married Doris (nee Krueger) on December 27, 1958. In 1992, Bill and Doris moved from the Chicago area to Gilbert, AZ, where he was active in the Knights of Columbus Third Degree Council 3121 and Fourth Degree Council 2536 in Chandler, AZ. Bill was a devoted family man who would say his greatest accomplishment was his close knit family. He enjoyed playing cards, especially Sheepshead, and often used his sense of humor to liven things up.
He is survived by his wife, Doris, son Jayme (Lisa) Vanden Heuvel, Batavia, IL, daughter Vicki (Tim) Davies, Miller Place, NY, daughter Ann (Bob) Hattan, Downers Grove, IL, and son Paul (Diane) Vanden Heuvel, Edwardsville, IL; grandchildren Billy and Rachel Vanden Heuvel, Aaron and Briana Davies, Anthony and Bradley Hattan, Sommer and Lauren Vanden Heuvel; three brothers, Bud (Audrey) Vanden Heuvel, Seymour, WI, Jerome Vanden Heuvel, Seymour, WI, Bob (Carolyn) Vanden Heuvel, Port Washington, WI; five sisters, Jean Vanden Heuvel, Seymour, WI, Nancy (Rich) Stephani, Sheboygan, WI, Kate (John) Avery, Albuquerque, NM, Joyce (Herb) Grulke, Green Bay, WI and Audrey (Tom) Zuleger, Denmark, WI; sister-in-law, Betty Raether, Phoenix, AZ. Aunt Mary Vanden Heuvel, Green Bay,WI , Aunt Delores Kuehne, Seymour, WI and Aunt and Uncle Joe and Margaret Vanden Heuvel, Seymour, WI as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Myra Vanden Heuvel, a brother, Earl, and brother -in-law, Elwood Raether.
Services will be held at 11AM on Thursday, November 29 at St. John's Catholic Church in Seymour, WI Visitation will be from 4 to 8 on Wednesday, the 28th, with a prayer service at 7:30 PM at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour. Visitation will continue from 10 AM until the hour of service at the church. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at: www.boettcherfuneralhomes.com .
