William "Bill" L. Moehring, 76, of Waupaca and formerly of Seymour, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. He was born January 11, 1946 a son of the late Florian and Estelle (Striegel) Moehring.
Bill was united in marriage to Virginia "Ginny" Nikodem, June 21, 1970. He was an amazing example of what it looks like to be a devoted, sentimental, loving husband.
Bill served 24 years with the U.S. Army Reserve 395th Ammo Ordinance Company from 1965-1975 during the Vietnam era. He played in a band 'The Roustabouts' featuring Old Time Rock and Roll, which was also how he met Ginny.
He started his business 'Bill's Auto' May 1, 1979. For almost 44 years he ran a successful company with used car sales, service, repairs, and towing. He was an asset to the community and an honorable, well-loved business man. He adored his classic cars, going to the Fox Valley Auto Auction, and competing in a vast array of 5k running events and competitions. He loved to travel with his wife and family, spend time up north on the lake and anything that involved fishing!
He is survived by his wife, Ginny; three daughters: Dana Moehring (fiance, Mark Polzin), Dawn McCoy, and De Ann (Austin) Steffens; grandchildren, Evan and Kyle Tennie and Gabe, Finn, and Harper Polzin. He is also survived by his siblings: Don (Linda) Moehring, Jerry Moehring, Dave (special friend, Scott Young) Moehring, Janice Henn, and Lavonne (Steve) Mueller.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents (Florian and Estelle Moehring), Ginny's parents (Michael Nikodem and Rose Marie (Everard) Nikodem), his brother Robert Moehring, sister-in-law, Joanne Moehring and brothers-in-law: Larry Gagnow and Gerald Henn.
