William A. "Bill" Stedjee, age 73, of Navarino passed away peacefully on Friday, November 1, 2024. He was born on January 23, 1951 to the late Owen and Katherine (Wilkinson) Stedjee.
Following high school he served in the US Army Reserve 395th OD Company out of Appleton for six years.
He was united in marriage to Kathleen Nitzske on October 2, 1971 at Ascension Lutheran Church in Navarino having celebrated over 53 years together.
Bill and Kathy dairy farmed for 27 years. After his retirement from farming he began a new career at Carew Concrete and retired yet again in 2014. It seems as though he was just as busy after retirement.
Bill loved the outdoors and enjoyed their years of farming. He had quite a collection of Oliver tractors, in which his passion was passed down and shared with his grandson. He drove his classic truck, which was restored and worked on with his sons and grandsons. They all share in a collection of classic trucks as well. Bill was the type of guy that was always occupied building or fixing anything that needed help or had to be built.
He also held a special place in his heart for the women and granddaughters in his life. With working side by side with Kathy farming and also after retirement, to wood projects in their shop, etc. and basically always being together. He so loved to pick on his granddaughters and their favorite part was his laugh and smile when they bantered back. They'd love to take his golf cart out for drives and also help him achieve the next level on his game on his iPad. To his daughter-in-laws, Heidi that was his secretary when he needed to purchase something online, or drive a tractor. To telling stores while sitting in Penny's barber chair or playing all kinds of fun games and bingo.
Bill and Kathy took many camping trips with Jack and Dawn, playing cribbage, rummy, and "dirty board" with friends. As an avid Navarino Rangers fan he attended every game this year to watch his grandson play, always sitting in the same shady spot under the tree on the right field line. Deer hunting was one of his passions which he loved to do with his sons and grandchildren, and he was fortunate enough to leave this world doing something he enjoyed so much. More than anything else, Bill was a true family man that never missed an opportunity to spend time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; two sons and daughters-in-law: Travis (Penny) Stedjee and Luke (Heidi) Stedjee; grandchildren: Hannah, Ervin, Carter (Jenna), Sidney, Kayla (Cole), Jake (Tara), Lucus, Peter, Terren (Courtney), Chance (Amber), Blake, and Levi; and a handful (5) of great-grandchildren with two more on the way. Further survived by two sisters: Jan (Darrell) Beyer and Darlene (John) Boettcher; and brother Dave (Cindy Janita) Stedjee; members of the Nitzske family, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
At Bill's request, a private family service will be held. Thank you for keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers.
