Winton E. Severson, 81, of Appleton, passed away Friday, January 12, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born December 11, 1936, son of the late Bannet and Opal (Foate) Severson.
He was a long-time and faithful member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour.
Winton was a proud Air Force Veteran, serving from 1960 to 1967, and retired from the Air Force as a Captain. He was a very proud member of the Retired Officers Club of N.E.W., and also a member of the Military Officers Association of America.
Winton was a purveyor of antiques; watches, clocks, and cars. He was an enthusiastic member of the Nicolet Model A Ford Club of America.
He enjoyed the arts, attending symphonies and theater productions on a regular basis. Spending time at his cottage on Lake Winnebago was one of his favorite things to do.
Winton is survived by his sister, Shirley (Claire) Robinson, Monona, WI; sister-in-law, Gerry Severson; and eight nieces and nephews: Joan, Lynn, Brad, Brock, Jim, Mark, Kathy, and Tom.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bannet “Bud” Severson.
Friends may call at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 9:30 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am with Pastor Roland Lindeman officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.muehlboettcher.com
In Winton’s honor, a memorial fund will be established in his memory to support the causes he loved.
